Zenless Zone Zero, the ARPG fromHoYoverse, has generated 100 million USD in revenue in its first month, despite being overshadowed by another gacha game from the same studio.
Zenless Zone Zero 100 Million In Profits In 30 Days
The new game from the creators ofGenshin ImpactandHonkai: Star Raillaunched with strong user numbers and profits, although it is not HoYoverse’s best launch to date. The adventure ofZenless Zone Zeroin New Eridu started strong with millions of downloads and accumulating more than 25 million dollars in earnings in its first 7 days.
According to Gacha Revenue, which tracks all smartphone games, the game has has managed revenue of around 100 million dollars. This figure is based on player data in China, representing the bulk of the total revenue with slightly less than 69 million dollars, while in Japan and the rest of the world, it adds up to about 31 million.
Although these are very high figures to consider, the Chinese studio has not managed to match its initial launch, which was so compared to Breath of the Wild on Switch.
Genshin Impact & Honkai: Star Rail Generated More Profits
If we compareZenless Zone Zero’sprofits with those ofGenshin Impact, we see that they were modest: the adventure through Teyvat made nearly 250 million dollars in its first month.
As summarized by VG247, this should not come as a surprise to anyone, considering the decline in games developed by HoYoverse.Honkai: Star Railbrought the studio around 130 million in profits in its first month, showing a slight downward trend.
The game performed better than this recent release, but it also achieved half of whatGenshin Impactdid; although all three games enjoy good health in terms of revenue and players. We should not forget that the open-world gacha starring the siblings is a special case, as it was launched in October 2020 with the pandemic still ongoing.
Spending on video games was on the rise and has not been as high since, which is why we see so many layoffs and cuts among developers.
Zenless Zone Zeromay have generated nearly 100 million dollars in its first month, but HoYoverse has not been able to match Genshin Impact in this regard.
