The originalxXxfared well at the box office, taking in $142.1 million domestic and $277.4 million worldwide from a $70 million budget. Despite the initial movie’s success,Vin Dieseldid not return for the sequel, 2005’sXXX: State of the Union, which starredIce Cubeas Augustus Gibbons' new recruit, Darius Stone. That sequel didn’t fare quite as well at the box office, taking in just $26.8 million domestically and $71 million worldwide. Both Xander Cage and Augustus Gibbons are back with a slew of new cast members inXXX 3.

Theaction sequelwill be facing The Weinstein Company’sThe Founder, which opens wide on July 25, 2025 after an Oscar-qualifying run this December, and Universal’s horror-thrillerSplit, starringJames McAvoy. There are also four high-profile movies opening one week prior on January 13. 20th Century Fox will debutHidden Figures, with Paramount’sFriday the 13th, Warner Bros.‘Live By Nightand Paramount’sMonster Trucksalso opening on that date.
