World of Warcraft: The War Within’sfirst Mythic+ season arrives on Sept. 17.Mythic+ dungeons are timed instances that require Keystones to unlock.These Keystones begin at Level 2 and climb in difficulty - each time you complete a Keystone successfully within the time limit, you’ll be rewarded with another Keystone for a higher difficulty to keep pushing upwards. Mythic+ dungeons provide a highly competitive environment, with rewards that include a season-specific mount (the Diamond Mechsuit) and season-specific achievements.

And with a new season comes new affixes to create a more challenging experience. These affixes begin at Keystone Level 2, the first keystone you’ll start with this season, and new affixes are introduced as you climb in Keystone difficulty, all the way up to Level 12.

Season 1 Affix: Xal’atath’s Bargain
Unlocked at Keystone Level 2
Xal’atath’s Bargain is the first affix you’ll experience this season, as it unlocks at Keystone level 2. Xal’atath’s Bargain features four modifiers that will rotate each week:Xal’atah’s Bargain: Ascendant; Xal’atath’s Bargain: Voidbound, Xal’atath’s Bargain: Oblivion and Xal’atath’s Bargain: Devour.Each involves Xal’atath appearing to make your party’s lives a little bit more difficult. Here’s an overview of how each modifier works:

Unlocked at Keystone Level 4
Returning Mythic+ affixes Tyrannical and Fortified become active atKeystone Level 4, alternating each week.

Unlocked at Keystone Level 7
Challenger’s Peril becomes active starting at Keystone Level 7.Challenger’s Peril causes 15 seconds to be subtracted from the dungeon timer each time a player dies, instead of the usual 5 seconds.

Season 1 Affix: Fortified and Tyrannical… Again!
Unlocked at Keystone Level 10
Fortified and Tyrannical return, starting at Keystone Level 10. The affixes are the same as what you experience at Keystone Level 4, but this time,both affixes become active, meaning you’ll deal with increased health and increased damage from both bosses and regular enemies.
Season 1 Affix: Xal’atath’s Guile
Unlocked at Keystone Level 12
At Keystone Level 12,Xal’atath’s Bargain is removed and replaced with a new affix, Xal’atath’s Guile.Xal’atath’s Guile gives all enemies a flat 20% increase to their health and damage done, and removes the positive buffs that were provided by Xal’atath’s Bargain. This makes Keystones at Level 12 and higher incredibly challenging, especially combined with previously mentioned affixes.
