When trying to perfect your endgame builds inGranblue Fantasy: Relink, you’re going to encounter the Damage Cap feature sooner rather than later. Yes, Relink places a ceiling on your damage, and breaking this ceiling is a huge part of the postgame grind.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to get concrete information about the Damage Cap for your character or their skills without testing them yourself, which is hugely frustrating. The Damage Cap mechanic is one of the most confusing things about Granblue Fantasy: Relink, but once you start to account for it in your builds, it becomes much less of a headache.

What is the Granblue Fantasy Relink Damage Cap?
Every single attack and skill in Granblue Fantasy: Relink has amaximum damage valuethat cannot be exceeded without upgrades. No matter how many Attack Power Sigils you stack, you won’t be able to deal more damage than whatever the Damage Cap value is set to. Each skill and attack has a different Damage Cap, so some abilities can deal more damage than others by default.
If you’re improving your character with Sigils and Masteries but notice that yourdamage numbers aren’t changingin combat, then you’ve hit the Damage Cap for the skill or attack that you’re using. For example, some players have found thatRosetta’s standard attacks have a Damage Cap of 9,999. No matter what you do to Rosetta, she won’t be able to deal more than 9,999 damagewith her normal attacks without raising her Damage Cap.
How to Increase Damage Cap in Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Thankfully, increasing the Damage Cap for your character’s abilities is fairly straightforward. Some Sigilsincrease theDamage Capfor certain skills, and each character hasDamage Cap nodes in their Mastery treesfor each of their attacks. The Sigils and Mastery nodes will specify which skills and attacks they work for, which should help you plan out your build.
If you’re lucky enough to obtain aWrightstonethat has a Damage Cap perk attached to it, then you can imbue your favorite weapon with it to raise your DPS ceiling even higher. Any Sigils and Wrightstones with Damage Cap perks are going to be super rare, though, and you won’t even see anything related to the Damage Cap mechanic until you reach thehigher difficulty levels of Granblue Fantasy: Relink.
It can be frustrating to have to account for Damage Caps when building your Granblue Fantasy: Relink characters, but the mechanic ensures that characters don’t gettoobroken. Finding the right balance between Damage Cap perks and other Traits is part of the fun and it just gives youone more thing to chase in the never-ending hunt for loot.
