The first differentiation I should make is thatGlymmercole and Glymercoleare two different things in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and both have a different use. Notice the extra M in Gymmercole? That’s the useful one. Here is what they’re both for.

The use of Glymercole

This heavy and mysterious ore you may have picked up in your adventures in Battahl. If you’re asking yourself if it is needed for a quest later on, never fear. You can go ahead and sell the Glymercole you collect inDragon’s Dogma 2. However, it’s the glowing, double M’d cousin, Glymmercole, you should keep it. You will need it for a quest later.

Collecting Glymmercole in Dragon’s Dogma 2

If you happen upon the glowing version of Glymmercole inDragon’s Dogma 2, hold onto it. Pop it in your storage for later, as it’ll come in useful once you pick up the Repair theDulled Regalia Sword questline. This quest can only be picked up by chance from Roman, a guard wandering the palace grounds.

If you visit the Palace grounds, and in particular the fountain garden, Roman will approach you with a proposition. Unsurprisingly, this guard is also aware of the worst-kept secret, and he is all for you, being the newly crowned regent. He has entrusted you with the ceremonial royal sword, but it needs repairs, and this will require Glymmercole.

What is Glymercole and where to use it in Dragon’s Dogma 2

You will have to head to Battahl, either via the traditional route or the sneaky one, and locate the Blacksmith in Bakbattahl’s capital. It is here that you will need to use the Glymmercole in Dragon’s Dogma 2 to relight a long cold forge.

Grabbing the Gylmmercole will require you tovisit a mine. There are both Glymercole and Glymmercole in the mine, as well as some heavy enemies. Here you’ll spot the difference between the two. The material you need for the quest glows when you’re not illuminating it with your Lantern or Magic.
