The Witcherwill return to Netflix with new episodes just in time for Christmas. On July 9, the first-ever WitcherCon took place with the special streaming event bringing new updates for the Netflix series as well as the video games by CD Projekt Red. One of the biggest announcements to come out of the event is the official release date for the show’s highly anticipated second season, as it’s been revealed that season 2 will hitNetflixon Jul 10, 2025. A new official poster from Netflix also brandishes the date.

It had previously been reported that season 2 ofThe Witcherwas expected to debut sometime in late 2021, but an official date had not been named. More big news is expected to come out of WitcherCon as well, such as more sneak peeks at what’s to come in the second season. So far, our first look at Jaskier in season 2 has been revealed in a new image that’s been shared online.

The titles of most of the episodes in season 2 have also been revealed with a new video as well. It doesn’t include new footage from the series, but it shows these titles in order: “A Grain of Truth,” “Kaer Morhen,” “What Is Lost,” “Redanian Intelligence,” “Turn Your Back,” “Dear Friend,” and [TOP SECRET]. Netflix also teases that there are hidden clues to be found in the titles.

“Can you decipher the clues hidden in our Season 2 episode titles? Share your theories!” tweetedThe Witcher.

It has been a particularly painful wait between the first and second season of the hit Netflix series. The first season premiered back in late 2019 and quickly became one of the platform’s most-watched originals. Season 2 would likely be arriving much sooner if not for the multiple production delays that plaguedThe Witcherlast year, and it’s taken the cast and crew more than a year to wrap filming. It’s resulted in a two-year wait for new episodes, but it’s certainly good to now have a date to put on the board.

The Witcheris based on thefantasy book series by Andrzej Sapkowskiand was created for Netflix by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Set in a medieval fantasy world on a landmass called the Continent, the series explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) and Princess Ciri (Freya Allan), who are linked to each other by destiny. Eamon Farren, Anya Chalotra, Joey Batey, and MyAnna Buring also star with newcomers including Kim Bodnia, Kristoer Hivju, and Yasen Atour.

Meanwhile, multiple spinoffs are also in development as Netflixcontinues to expand the franchise. An animated movie,The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, tells the origin story of Geralt’s mentor Vesemir. It’s expected to arrive in 2021 as well but a release date hasn’t been set. A limited live-action series calledThe Witcher: Blood Origin, set 1200 years beforeThe Witcher, is also in the works.
