The MCU’s future is very quickly shifting towards the full introduction of the X-Men to the franchise, and, according to the director ofCaptain America: Brave New World, a brand newWolverine origin story. Not content with having several different versions of the Adamantium-boned character’s origin already out there, it looks like one of the worst kept secrets of the MCU is now official.
For a long time now, there have been several claims thatCaptain America: Brave New Worldwould be addressing what became of the Celestial being that began toemerge from the ocean in the climax ofEternalsback in 2021. This was confirmed by several shots of Tiamut in the trailers for the upcoming Marvel Studios release. Now the additional rumor that the dead celestial will bring Adamantium to the MCU, and start a path that will lead to a new Wolverine, has been confirmed by Julius Onah during an interview withScreenRant.

“Adamantium is much more durable. Adamantium is not like Vibranium, which can absorb kinetic energy. Adamantium, as we know, will eventually be a part of Project X. It will eventually be a part the story of Wolverine. So Adamantium now becomes this resource that could change the world in a way that’s very different because Vibranium is something that is really under the purview of the Wakandans. This is why it becomes an amazing geopolitical football in our film.
And because we haven’t had mutants in the past, because we haven’t had Adamantium, it became such a fun way to surprise audiences with a new sort of vision of what it could be. And I’m just still pinching myself that I get to have the movie that introduces Red Hulk, that introduces Aamantium, that introduces Serpent Society.”

Will There Be Two Wolverines in the MCU?
All of this comes as little surprise to those who have followed the various “scooper” rumors, which all at one point or another suggested that the plot ofCaptain America: Brave New Worldwould be revolving around a global race to secure the minerals and resources that Tiamut’s body turned into. At the time these rumors first circulated, it made it obvious that this would lead directly to the introduction of Wolverine. But things change.
Since those rumors began, Hugh Jackman made his surprise return to the role of Wolverine inDeadpool & Wolverine, and that has sparked its own set of rumors – namely that Jackman is now wanted to continue in the role. Maybe not quite until he is 90, but for a few more years at least. So will there be two Wolverine’s simultaneously in the MCU?

Ryan Reynolds Reunites With Hugh Jackman as Promised…but Not How MCU Fans Want
The bromance continues, but the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ stars were not in New York City to represent the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Probably not, or at least, not for long.Avengers: Secret Warsis a movie where all bets are off, as dimensions collide and heroes from various realities find themselves thrown into the mix together. This opens the door wide for Jackman’s Wolverine to find his way into the main MCU timeline, along with any other characters from other branches of the franchise that Marvel Studios wants to keep a little while longer. If Jackman is sticking around, then that could mean that a new Wolverine doesn’t appear until a few years later, which would possibly tie into the Mutant Saga that is believed to be coming in the wake ofSecret Wars. While we may or may not see two Wolverines side by side in the franchise, there are clearly plans being laid for the next iteration of the character to be born, whoever may be taking on the role.
