The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is the latest first-party PlayStation exclusive to join Sony’s ever-growing catalog of PC ports. It’s being handled by Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, together this time, and is slated for release in early April 2025.

Now, the developers have given us a first proper look at the technical side of the PC version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered including PC-exclusive features, system requirements for a variety of targets, and new content.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered System Requirements

The developers have provided a fairly detailed breakdown of what players can expect from their hardware. If you’re aiming for 1440p at the high settings preset, you’ll need a GPU like the RTX 3070 paired with a Ryzen 7 3700X. Given that these requirements are for native rendering and not upscaled, the requirements aren’t that high.

For 4K, you’ll need the tried and tested RTX 4080, but this is with the “Very High” preset at native resolution. We’re sure that players can still enjoy the game at 4K if they’re open to using DLSS or FSR and potentially lowering the settings a few notches.

PlayStation Network log-in bonuses

Even though the log-in requirement is made optional, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is still not available to purchase in several regions. We’re unsure why it’s even a problem anymore, but PlayStation has not offered a solution yet.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Release Date for PC

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store onApril 3, 2025.

Even though Nixxes and Iron Galaxy have a mostly solid track record, launches can be a bit rough for both studios. Recently, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was a step down from what I’ve usually come to expect from Nixxes Software, and I really hope that isn’t the case with The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.

Ali has been writing about video games for the past six years and is always on the lookout for the next indie game to obsess over and recommend to everyone in sight. When he isn’t spending an unhealthy amount of time in Slay the Spire, he’s probably trying out yet another retro-shooter or playing Dark Souls for the 50th time.
