The third shrine in Great Sky Island is called Gutanbac Shrine, but before you get to it and discover its name, it is just called the Ice or Snow Mountain Shrine because it is the first snow biome and ice you’ll come across inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. If you are struggling to get to the top of the Snow Mountain Shrine, you’ve come to the right place.
Note:To make exploring the snow biome much easier, I highly recommendpicking up the Archaic Tunicfirst as it will get rid of your need for cold resistancecooked food.
How to get to Snow Mountain Shrine inTears of the Kingdom
Tears of the Kingdomhas a lot of challenging puzzles and areas to explore, but the first major hurdle (after learning aboutCourage to Fall Shrine Guide by Gamekinny, of course) is to climb to the top of Snow Mountain Shrine. In my experience, the easiest way to do this is touse three attached logs.
Getting to the summit is fairly straightforward, but once you get to the area just beneath the Snow Mountain Shrine, you’ll be faced with an all-ice wall. While you can climb the ice wall in a specific hidden area,an easier trick to overcome the ice wallis touse a Wood Cutting Axeto chop down the trees in the area. With the trunks available,use Ultrahand to attach three trunks in a vertical line.
With that done,rotate your makeshift ladder up and prop it in the cornerof the mountain as shown in the image above. As you may have noticed by now, you can’t climb ice, but you can climb wood.
With the wood ladder secured in the corner, you canclimb up to the summit of the Snow Mountain Shrineand enter the Gutanbac Shrine. On the opposite side of the shrine, you’ll see a worn-down building that has a cooking pot in it. you may drop Flint near the cooking pot and strike it with a stone weapon to create a fire. You can then use this cooking pot to create more cold resistant recipes which are essential if you don’t have cold resistance gear yet.
