One of the stars of the upcoming Disney+ series,Obi-Wan Kenobi, recently stated that fans will be blown away with the footage from the first trailer. The highly-anticipated series will finally see the return ofEwan McGregoras the legendary Jedi Master since his last appearance inStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sithback in 2005.Obi-Wan Kenobiwill join the ranks of theStar Warsoriginal programming on Disney+ alongsideThe Book of Boba Fett,The Mandalorian,Star Wars: The Bad Batch, andStar Wars: Visions. After the premiere ofObi-Wan: Kenobi, it is expected that theRogue Oneprequel series,Andor, will premiere sometime later this year.
During a recent interview withSlashFilm, actor Rory Ross was hyping up the arrival of the show’s first teaser trailer, claiming that it’s going to “blow people’s minds!” Rory Ross portrayed a Tusken Raider inThe Book of Boba Fett, which is currently streaming on Disney+. It has been confirmed that he will also appear inObi-Wan Kenobias a Stormtrooper. During the interview, the actor initially opened about how the upcoming series will show fans what happened to the titular character afterRevenge of the Sith.
“It’s going to be awesome. It’s going to be really, really cool. Having the connective tissue between the prequels andA New Hope, and just understanding where Obi has been and what’s happening, story-wise, I think fans are going to enjoy that,” Rory Ross toldSlashFilm. He then teased the arrival of the show’s trailer.
It’s just going to be a really great time. I think a lot of fans are like, ‘Where’s the trailer? What’s happening?’ I think the big part of it is [Lucasfilm] is just trying to ensure that it’s as polished as possible, so that when it comes out, it’s not going to have thatGame of Thronesmoment, where there’s a coffee cup in the corner that they missed or something like that. It’s going to have a lot of love that’s poured into it, and it’s just going to hopefully blow people’s minds and just really enjoy seeing what’s been going on."
Obi-Wan Kenobiis an upcoming American limited series developed for streaming on Disney+ featuring theStar Warscharacter of the same name. The series is written by Joby Harold and directed by Deborah Chow. The official synopsis for the upcoming reads as, officially titledObi-Wan Kenobi, the series begins 10 years after the dramatic events ofStar Wars: Revenge of the Sithwhere he faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The series will bring back Ewan McGregor,Hayden Christensen,Joel Edgerton, and Bonnie Piesse.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Release Date
While there’s currently no exact release date for the upcoming series, the anticipation forObi-Wan Kenobiis quite up there. Recently, IMDb had announced thatObi-Wan Kenobiwas listed in itsMost Anticipated Movies, TV Series of 2022. To be precise, theStar Warsseries was placed as the 6th most anticipated new series of 2022. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy had revealed how McGregor and Christensen’s reunion turned into an emotional moment, and how they were excited to step back into their iconic roles once again (and hopefully not for the last time).
“The thing that was most exciting was being on the set and watching the two ofthemget excited,” Kennedy toldEmpiremagazine. “They hadn’t seen one another in a long time. I was surprised at just how incredibly emotional it was for each of them to find themselves back in these roles, and just realizing how importantStar Warswas to each of them. It was the beginning of their careers.”
Obi-Wan Kenobiis currently scheduled to be released in some time 2022 and will consist of a total of six episodes. Ewan McGregor himself has revealed that filming wrapped back on September 19. With no confirmed announcements of when the first trailer forObi-Wan Kenobiwill be released, a short sizzle reel was released last November in celebration ofDisney+ Day.
