Square Enix unveils new details about upcoming spinoff Dragon Quest Treasures which features Erik and Mia’s treasure hunting adventure.
Spinoff Dragon Quest Treasures Gets New Gameplay Details
Square Enix has shared some new gameplay details about the spinoff treasuring hunting title Dragon Quest Treasures. In this RPG heading to the Nintendo Switch, it follows Erik and Mia as they quest for treasures. Along the way, smaller items can be uncovered called “bric-a-brac” which have a silver aura glow to them.
Monster companions will let you know when you are getting closer to something precious by showing speech bubbles above their heads. to unearth these treasures, there will be some exploring involved. Firstly players will need to decide which island to send Erik and Mia (protagonists from Dragon Quest 11) to visit.
After you’ve chosen your desired location, Purrsula and Porcus will give a “Treasure Forecast”, detailing the kind of loot that will be available. In addition to the forecast, Purrsula and Porcus can give you what’s called a “Golden Ratio” giving you idea of how suitable your party is to finding treasure.
While some bric-a-brac is fairly easy to find, others will be much rarer and hidden throughout the world. In order to find these, you will need to use a Fortune Finder that grants a special power to Erik and Mia to seek the treasure’s location. This is seen “through the eyes of your monster companions”. Each monster has a different kind of “Treasure Vision”. For example Muckingham’s Vision is precisely as it sounds, a muddy view of the terrain.
While Restelle’s Vision has an obscured vision, partially blocking the view of the creature with a helm visor. Once you find that precious loot, you will need to get it appraised.
Dragon Quest Treasureswill be coming to the Nintendo Switch on December 9th. Pre-orders are now available for both physical and digital versions.
