Developer CD Projekt Red unveiled a fan-made remix trailer at E3 2018 of CD Projekt Red’sCyberpunk 2077with a scene from Witcher 3 which hints of a possible crossover. In a recent interview with the developers, they discussed popular questions of whether Ciri will be making an appearance in Cyberpunk 2077.

Rumour: Cyberpunk 2077 x Witcher Crossover?

You might remember we covered an article about the idea ofCyberpunk 2077 universe being mentioned in Witcher 3 by Ciriat the end of last year. Adding new fuel to the fire,CD Projekt Redused a fan made mashup of the Cyperpunk 2077’s trailer with the scene from The Witcher 3 where Ciri describes a futuristic world.

Of course Geralt disregards the description of the world as “fooling around” but dramatic irony means we know better. This trailer being shown by the developers not only hypes up fans but installs hope of an actual crossover. You can watch the remix fan made trailer below:

In a recent interview withPolygon, the developers explain how they get this question an awful lot. It seems by stirring this idea of a Cyberpunk/Witcher crossover has gained a mind of it’s own as fans incessantly pry, to see if there is more to the Easter egg than meets the eye. It turns out maybe not…:

We are not Kingdom Hearts…We are not joining universes, and I know that there are a lot of fans on the team and they would like to have Ciri in the game. But I am totally against it, still - Director - Adam Badowski

Maybe you will change your mind…there is a little hope there. - CEO - Marcin Iwiński

This neither confirms or denies a possible crossover and we could argue that the trailer was played for a dramatic reveal of theCyberpunk 2077showcase, but we’ll have to wait and see whether Ciri will be making a cameo in some shape or form.
