One of the biggest MMORPGs on the planet,Lost Ark, is updated on a monthly basis, with Amazon taking in a lot of feedback from the community to hopefully build a better version here in the west. The April 2025 update has finally arrived to many’s excitement, as it features a bevy of new changes and enhancements, but it also features a rather disappointing issue that Amazon has yet to address.

Golden Frog Mishap
While the game is more than playable and new events can be accessed, a number of the improvements and items in your inventory, be it from the shop or a past acquisition, aren’t accessible. The big issue is the boxes of Advanced Honing Scrolls, which coincided with the update nerfing the 1–20 stages, can’t be accessed. On top of this, Legendary Card packs, be it selectors or randoms, can’t be opened or moved, along with things such as Hellfire Keystone chests, Luminous Gem Shard chests, and various others.
At the current time, Amazon hasn’t released an official statement, but it has to do with the Golden Frog.The Golden Frog was introduced in the previous patchto mixed reception, but at the end of the day, it still gave some decent rewards if you were willing to shell out the Gold. On the morning of April 23, the Golden Frog reset like it normally does on Wednesday, but instead of the weekly items refreshing, the unique items reset, as well. This means, if you were up at server-up, you would be able to snatch things like a Legendary Card Selector or a Relic Book Selector. Amazon stated they were going to extend the Golden Frog and update the store, so some people just thought this was their big reveal.
Unfortunately, this looks like it was unintended, and thus, Amazon quickly removed access to the Golden Frog and the items tied to the shop have been completely restricted. It doesn’t matter if you got it from the shop, if the item was in the shop and shared the same ID in Lost Ark’s database, it was being put on hold while they likely are sorting out this mess.

While this is disappointing, that doesn’t mean the various other areas of Lost Ark aren’t accessible. While players won’t be able to utilize the newly nerfed Advanced Honing System to its fullest just yet (as Scrolls are locked), there are still various other big updates in this patch. For starters, the Road to Act 3 event was launched where players are able to assign a character to this event to help them get to item level 1660 (provided they’re between 1640 and 1660).
This is essentially a Hyper Express Event we’ve become so used to, just that, instead of starting from scratch and including a power pass, it can only be assigned to existing characters at a certain item level. Still, this will boost their honing chances, reduce the materials needed and even give various extras. Having done it twice, it only cost us anywhere between 30-50k gold total to boost a character 20 item levels. A pretty good value overall. On top of that, there is support to 1680, and if you complete Behemoth and Aegir, there will be extra goodies, as well.
Storm the Abyss
In addition to the Road to Act 3 (the next raid), Storm of the Abyss has replaced the Guardian event and is more traditional. You’re able to earn the currency through doing your dailies such as Chaos Dungeons, but there is also a mysterious portal in Shushire that can be accessed, giving additional currency for a short amount of time. This will run until June 25.
Class Adjustments
The long-awaited class adjustments that the Korean version got a couple of months ago is finally here. The big highlights are Scrapper, Slayer, Wardancer, Striker and Summoner. Most of the classes have been adjusted in some way, but these are the ones that are benefiting the most from this. Sadly, there have been some nefs as well, specifically for some classes like Glaiver and the Specalization version of Wildsoul.
Miscellaneous and QOL
There have been various other smaller updates put in this update, as well.
The April patch for Lost Ark is available right now. We still have no timeframe for when the Golden Frog will make a return.
