The death of Harry Andersonin 2018 left a deep void in the hearts of those who were fans of the sitcom. His portrayal of Harry Stone was pivotal to the success of the original show, and so it’s sad that he can’t be a part of the new iteration. And now, with recent news that Charles Robinson and Markie Post have both passed away this summer, there is even more reason to feel nostalgic for the classic format. While John Larroquette is returning for the rebooted series, no other actors from the original show have yet been confirmed. Regardless, his involvement is an exciting development given his four Emmy Awards for his performance onNight Court.

What to Expect inNight CourtSequel Series
Judge Harry T. Stone’s daughter, Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch), is the main character in the upcoming sequel seriesNight Court. Taking on her father’s mantle, she’ll be presiding over Manhattan’s municipal court night shift and attempting to make a name for herself outside his shadow. John Larroquette will return as Dan Fielding on the other side of the courtroom in a new role as the court’s public defender, appointed to this position by Abby Stone herself based on the trailer.
Olivia (India de Beaufort) takes up the role of ambitious prosecutor dreaming of bigger things ahead and rounded out by Neil (Kapil Talwalkar), a highly detail-oriented clerk and Baliff Donna “Grugs” Gruganous (Lacretta), whose kind heartedness only serves to enhance her feisty temper. With such an eclectic mix of characters it’s certain to be an entertaining experience that rivals or even surpasses its predecessor.
