Netflix’s adaptation ofThe Witcherfranchise is abonafide hit. Not only is the show seemingly ramping up fora second season, but the Netflix series is even driving players back to 2015’sThe Witcher 3inrecord numbers. With so many eyes on the product, it only makes sense to pump out content and keep fans' interest piqued. In that vein,The Witcher’s official Twitter account revealed a neat interactive map they’ve created to give fans a better idea of the franchise’s world. Give it the teaser a look below and go tothe official siteto really dive in.
If you’re interested in learning a bit more about the world ofThe Witcher, this is a great-looking resource. The map itself is gorgeous, but it’s the timeline where the true meat of it all comes into play. There are four timelines along the bottom. One traces the overall world, while the other three represent the stories of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri.
As you work your way along each of the timelines, you’ll see different events come up. When you click on one of these, it shows you where on the map it takes place. You can also click the event again and get more detailed description of what happened there. Parts of the map also function like a monsterized version ofWhere’s Waldo. You’ll notice hidden monsters littered over the map. Clicking on them will bring up a beautifully illustrated moving picture of the monster, along with some fun facts about them.
The whole thing is super well put together. It looks like a lot of work and care went into making this for fans. It wouldn’t surprise me if I lose a good chunk of my weekend unlocking all the info included within.
The Witcheris available now on Netflix. The games tell a slightly different story but are still worth playing if the show tickles your fancy. The latest one,The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
