The long-awaited Feybreak update forPalworldadds an entirely new island to the early access title alongside more endgame gear and minerals necessary to build them, such as Chromite. Here is how to get Chromite in Palworld.
How to Find Chromite in Palworld
There are two methods that players can use to uncover Chromite: by using either theMetal Detector or Smokie Pal. Both methods require being Level 56 to take full advantage of discovering Chromite. The Metal Detector requires the following resources to unlock:
The Smokie Pal can also uncover Chromite with itsPartner Skill Dig, Dog! Dig!, but requires catching the Pal on the newFeybreak Islandand unlocking the Smokie’s Harness at Level 56. The Smokie’s Harness requires the following:

Players will then need to enter caves on Feybreak Island to discover the Chromite. The best cave can be found atcoordinates (-1213, -1098)on the low side of the mountain. Players can take the Desert Ash Plateau fast travel point west of the cave to get there easily.
Enter the cave with your Smokie Pal or Metal Detector present and use either in the large rooms. The Chromite willmagically appear as a rock with a flag sticking out of it, which can then be mined.

How to Use Chromite in Palworld
The only use for Chromite in Palworld is as an ingredient to refineHexolite, which is required to build most of the endgame gear and structures. Hexolite can be smelted in a Gigantic Furnace and requires five Chromite, 20 Ore, and 12Hexolite Quartz. The last mineral can also be mined on Feybreak Island, though takes much less effort than Chromite.
