Guardianis one of the two tank characters available inElden Ring Nightreign.His abilities revolve around keeping the party safe in expeditions, and his Ultimate Art will provide support while in boss fights. Completing his remembrances will secure new relics and a chalice that will give his abilities some extra utility while on expeditions.
Elden Ring Nightreign: Revenant Remembrance Guide
Sometimes you must explore your past to move forward in Elden Ring Nightreign.
First Remembrance Stage
To unlock the first portion of the remembrance, the first boss in the Tricephalos expedition must be defeated.
Starting the remembrance is quite easy once you’ve defeatedTricephalos. Running expeditions will grant you memory fragments for the journal, but in Chapter 4, you will need to defeat a boss for the next stage to be available. Once this remembrance stage is ready for you to play through, you’ll need to speak with the mannequin within the Roundtable Hold. Speak with him until you have the dialogue option to talk about theCursed Weapon. This will allow you to begin the next stage of this quest.
Once you have the hints of the Cursed Weapon, you can now make your way towards the objective. This will involve you going onany expeditionand going towards the marker on the map. This will always be a flag on the map, and for the Guardian, it will be in thesouthwest regionof the map regardless of the shifting lands phase. After reaching the objective, you will need to examine theCracked Golemlying on the ground, which will start the next phase of the objective.
Examining the Cracked Golem will start a boss fight with the monster to complete your quest. This version of the Golem is no different from the ones that you normally encounter on your expeditions and is easy to kill fairly early on into a run, making the fight very quick if you have your entire party there and ready to take on the foe. Once you’ve completed your trial with the boss, you only need to complete the expedition. If you fail at the boss fight, the Stone Stake will stay with you, and you can still complete the remembrance when you arrive back at the Roundtable Hold.
Second Remembrance Stage
To get to this stage, you have to kill at least one other boss as the Guardian to unlock this portion of the remembrance.
Much like the first stage of the remembrance, you must collect memory fragments from killing bosses. Killing one boss after the Chapter 5 journal entry is available will be enough to gain access to the next remembrance chapter,Chapter 6. When ready, you’ll be brought into the past sequence when you accept the quest. You don’t need to worry about going on another expedition for this portion of the remembrance either, as this will all take place within the Roundtable Hold.
After you’ve been brought into Guardian’s remembrance, you will need to speak with theWandering Merchant, who is located near theDressing Roomsection of the Hold. He will give you anEerie Charmand will sell some basicrelics, none of which are overly amazing. Once you’ve concluded your business with the merchant, you will head back into the main area to progress to the next section.
Guardian will black out and wake up in bed, the Mannequin andReclusewill have some dialogue to expand on. Once they’ve exhausted their dialogue, make your way back to the Wandering Merchant and speak with him again. You will be met with a choice, but you can only choose the first option to complete the remembrance for the Guardian before the conclusion of this portion of his quest.

You’ll have to do a bit of digging to unlock these mysterious towers.
Third Remembrance Stage
You must embark on another expedition and speak with the Demon Merchant.
After the Chapter 6 section has been completed, you’re able to move on to the next chapter as soon as you’d like. When beginning the next chapter, you’ll need to speak with the mannequin to gain access to the final objective to perform. Your final task will be to buy a cursed tome from theDemon Merchant, which can be located on the map when on an expedition. You can pick any expedition to embark on, but you will need to save10,000 runesto buy the tome from theScale-Bearing Merchant. Unlike most options available to purchase, this won’t come at any extra cost other than runes.
Purchase the tome and complete your expedition, just like with the Stone Stake. When you’ve returned from the expedition, you’ll need to speak with the mannequin to end the quest and move on to the final piece of the remembrance.
You aren’t required to beat the final expedition boss to keep your objective reward on hand.
Final Remembrance Stage
For the final stage of the remembrance, you speak with your fellow companions and confront the Guardian’s past.
The final piece of Guardian’s remembrance will take place in Chapter 9, where you learn more about the curse that caused harm to his species. However, there are a few pieces of the puzzle that need to be put together to get to this final part of this chapter. First, you need to have unlocked and a memory fragment to pair. Meaning you need to have defeated another boss with Guardian to access this, as well as the corresponding character unlock.
When these conditions have been met, you may proceed with the remembrance and continue with the next steps. The beginning of the quest will direct you towards the library, giving you an entry of text regarding a ritual. Afterward, when checking the map, you’ll have to speak with Recluse about her role in the Guardian’s past. You’ll be met with a choice to punish Recluse or forgive her. Both outcomes will result in a relic with the same stats, but with different names.

He has a great story, though simple and short, and some fantastic rewards that will complement his abilities throughout your adventures playing him. The relics and chalice that you obtain are fantastic and always worth using when taking on these powerful foes.
