Final Fantasy XIV’s patch 6.25 just launched on October 18, and with it came new quests, dungeons, and most importantly – mounts and minions. One adorable mount that’s already turning heads isSilkie– a giant pink and white rat that demands cleanliness above all. Earned through the new Variant Dungeons, you can ride atop a Silkie of your own in just a few steps. Here’s how to get the Silkie mount in Final Fantasy XIV.

How To Get The Silkie Mount in Final Fantasy XIV

The Silkie mount is obtained as a reward for completing theDig Deep: The Sil’dihn Subterraneachievement. To complete this achievement, players must unlock theSil’dihn SubterraneVariant Dungeon, and unlock all 12 survey records within it.

Unlocking The Sil’dihn Subterrane Variant Dungeon

To unlock the Variant dungeon, speak toOsmoninOld Sharlayanaround the(X: 11.9, Y: 13.3) coordinatesand accept the quest called“A Key to the Past”. This quest unlocks your first Variant dungeon and is completed upon finishing it.

Variant dungeons, unlike normal FFXIV dungeons, do not require a specific team composition or size. You can embark as a group of four, or you can choose to solo the entire dungeon yourself. Additionally, the dungeons offer various paths to choose, which will have you exploring different sections of the dungeon and fighting alternate bosses throughout your journey.

Each path through the Variant dungeon will have you discovering Sil’dih Survey Records, and it’ll take you multiple runs through its various paths to unlock all twelve. You can check how many entries you’ve discovered through the V&C Dungeon Finder window by clicking on the large tome on the left side.

Once you’ve discovered all twelve entries, you’ll earn theDig Deep: The Sil’dihn Subterraneachievement. Navigate through the Achievements menu to claim your new Silkie whistle, and simply use the whistle to earn the mount.
