Wuthering Waveshas launched its new 2.1 update and has a ton of new content for players to explore and enjoy with these new updates to the game. From new areas to explore, new events and new updates to the graphics, all players get to dive in and get into all of these new and unexpected treats.
Building a Sky Island Mobile Home in the Endless Expanse of Aloft

New Characters and Weapon Banners
With the addition of a new update, we have awesome and interesting new 5-star characters added to the growing roster of characters to bring into battle. With the characters come their weapon banners to pair with them for those seeking the maximum potential out of each of them. We are receiving a new 5-star Spectro dps character,Phoebe. She takes on the role of the main damage dealer for the teams she is on. Another one of these new characters,Brant, is a healer and Fusion-based damage character. He’s a stylish character whose moveset and kit will heal his allies while also providing much-needed healing to the party while in combat. In addition to the two new 5-stars, the return ofChangliis also coming back for players who had missed out on getting her in the first run of her banner.
Both of these new characters are extremely stylish, adding a whole new layer of what can be done while in combat and making each fight interesting and entertaining. Brant allows for satisfying swashbuckling gameplay and is one of the flashy and fun combos to deal damage while healing the team. He can jump into the air and grapple around the arena, avoiding damage and charging Concerto energy. Meanwhile, Phoebe will allow players to hold enemies down in one place and unleash powerful attacks. Her kit allows for interesting new types of synergies between other characters and is an awesome character who can enable you to perform both offensive and defensive combos against enemies. She fits with most characters due to her ability to lock enemies in place and buy some time for healing, regenerate energy or just throw out as much damage as possible.
Additional Map Area and Quests to Explore
The newest area that has been added toWuthering Wavesis a stunning and welcome addition to the world. TheRiccioli Islandsare a set of new lands to explore with each having their own unique geography, making them all a joy to visit and explore. Along with the new islands, we are also getting a new set of main quests, as well as a new permanent companion quest involving Brant learning more about him and his allies, which will give nice extra rewards to players as well. The new quests are entertaining, but the islands are a joy to see pop up. They’re filled with new enemies as well as boss fights to take on, each one having their arena as usual fit around their theme.
Endgame Events and Features to be Added
With the release of the 2.1 update, players can also all look forward to various new events within the game. While there are new limited-time events like theApex Ragunnaco-op Overdash event or the exploration events, there are also some upcoming permanent events as well.Whimpering Waveswill be an endgame combat event where players will accumulate points to earn rewards.Fantasies of the Thousand Gatewayswill also be a permanent weekly event for players to earn materials to level up their characters. Finally,Tower of Adversitywill now have a monthly reset instead of its two-week-long timer. There are quite a few events planned for players to explore and earn rewards on top of these as well, so it’s nice to see thatWuthering Waveshas a lot of plans for the future.
Along with new events, quests and characters, some new features are also added to the game. Echo Recommendations and Loadouts are now a welcome addition to the game, something many players have been asking for. These will allow variety in how to build the main teams around specific fights, exploring or just testing stats to see what works best. A nice pair with these additions is the backpack capacity increase with Echoes so that players can store up to3,000Echoes and play around with even more builds of all their favorite characters. Some more quality-of-life additions to the camera feature, as well as a Raytracing update to compatible GPUs and a planned Mac Release are being added as well.
This new update is shaping up to be the biggest one yet forWuthering Wavesand is filled with new content for players to dive right into. From exploration content to new events, everyone seems to get something new no matter what. The new characters are delightful and fun to see pop in and play, the new Riccioli Islands are beautiful and well-made, and the permanent events are always a welcome addition. This 2.1 update will be released onFebruary 13, 2025and will be the perfect time for new and old players to dive into the game to explore all of these new additions.
