After its announcement atThe Game Awards 2024, fans were eager to learn more about the project. Now, thanks to an age rating in Singapore, we have some additional information.
The game is rated 16+ and is set in the dark fantasy world of Limveld. Players embark on an immersive journey filled with exploration, combat, and narrative choices.
You’ll play as a Nightfarer tasked with battling a mysterious phenomenon known as the “Nighttide,” which is engulfing the kingdom of Limveld.
This expansive adventure pits players against various adversaries, including the formidable Nightlords, as they fight to restore balance to the land.
“Victories in combat reward money and items that can enhance traits and equipment. Health can be restored by seeking refuge at locations called ‘Grace Sites.’ Certain dialogues and choices shape the narrative,” the classification describes.
The gameplay involves exploring dynamic environments such as ruins, plains, and castles in a third-person perspective, interacting with NPCs, discovering items, and engaging in combat.
FromSoftware has introduced an intriguing three-day cycle where the map shrinks at night due to the Nighttide, increasing the pressure on players during their journey.
The Singapore classification board has rated it 16+ due to moderate violence in both ranged and melee combat involving swords, axes, arrows, and magical attacks.
Intense Action Awaits in Elden Ring Nightreign
The rating notes scenes of enemies disintegrating alongside skeletons and blood splatters: “Other scenes depict a character committing seppuku and characters being battered or devoured…” with additional unsettling details.
The game is set to launch in 2025 on PC, Steam Deck, PS4, PS5, and Xbox, though an exact release date has yet to be announced. A network test is expected to open soon.
