The veil of secrecy that has swirled aroundStar Wars: The Force Awakensis slowly starting to be lifted as we get closer and closer to the December 18 release date. It was recently confirmed, after months and months of speculation, thatAdam Driveris playing the villainous Kylo Ren, the Sith warrior with the crossguard light saber seen in the first trailer. And numerous other characters have been confirmed over the past few months. Still, there is still plenty we don’t know about directorJ.J. Abrams’s highly-anticipated sci-fi adventure, thought it seems the director’s friend and actorSimon Pegg, who has been rumored to have a mystery part inStar Wars: The Force Awakens, has let some new details slip. When asked if he was playing a Stormtrooper, the actor said he is not, before revealing thatDaniel Craigis actually a Stormtrooper.
“I wasn’t a Stormtrooper.Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper. I shouldn’t have said that.”

The actor had been previously rumored to have a small role inStar Wars: The Force Awakens, which shot at Pinewood Studios in London last year, but, of course, that was never confirmed. An unidentified insider claims thatDaniel Craigasked for a secret cameo.
“Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role - and was happy to have his name left off the posters. Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him.”

Simon Pegglater clarified thatDaniel Craig’s Stormtrooper role was merely a rumor he heard last summer, and that it certainly may not be true.
“Why is everyone leaping on this? It was a rumour last summer, wasn’t it? I read it in the paper. It may be untrue, like most of the other rumours, like Cumberbatch and Cruise being in it.”
Even if this rumor is true (which is quite possible since both Bond and Star Wars shoot at Pinewood Studios in England), andDaniel Craigdoes play a Stormtrooper, he certainly won’t be readily identifiable by fans whenStar Wars: The Force Awakenshits theaters December 18. And, if it’s not true, fans can still see the actor return as James Bond inSpectre, arriving in theaters November 6. Would you like to seeDaniel CraigorSimon Peggin a minor role?
