CD Projekthas announced all the details ofCyberpunk 2077 Ultimate EditionforNintendo Switch 2, which will be available in both physical and digital formats on June 5.
Cyberpunk 2077 Comes to Nintendo Switch 2
The most magical week of the year has brought us an extraordinaryNintendo Directfocused on theNintendo Switch 2, which now has an official release date. The console will launch on June 24, 2025, with incredible titles such asMario Kart World.
Aside from exclusives likeDonkey Kong Bananzaand Switch 2 editions of first-generation Switch games (such asBreath of the WildorSuper Mario Party Jamboree), the console will feature a massive third-party launch lineup.
Cyberpunk 2077, the acclaimed RPG fromCD Projekt RED, is coming to Nintendo’s next console with theUltimate Edition,which includes both the base game and thePhantom Libertyexpansion. It will be available on the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2 launch and will support features such as gyroscope aiming, mouse mode, and touch-screen controls.
“We are thrilled to bring the immersive world of the dark future to Nintendo players for the first time! Thanks to the Nintendo Switch 2, they can explore the City of Dreams at home or on the go,” said Adam Badowski, director of the 2020 game.
Storage Requirements and Physical Edition
The game’s storage requirements have also been revealed. The Nintendo Switch 2 will have an internal storage of 256GB, four times larger than the original Switch.
CD Projektconfirms thatCyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Editionfor Nintendo’s console will be available as a 64GB physical cartridge or as a digital download via the eShop. This means all content will be included on the cartridge, which is a notable achievement considering thatCyberpunk 2077takes up 70GB onPC, PlayStation, and Xbox, reaching nearly 100GB with Phantom Liberty.
It is also an exception to the Switch 2’s “Game-Key Cards,” which have disappointed many users for not including the actual game and instead acting as a key to unlock a digital download.
Performance and Pricing
Jason Schreier, former editor at Kotaku, confirms that the game runs at 40 FPS in performance mode when docked on the Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, both the physical and digital versions will be priced at $69.99.
“This is the most cyberpunk way to playCyberpunk 2077. With each new feature, players can take center stage in the action to become the ultimate edgerunner.”
However, the game and its DLC together will take up a quarter of the Switch 2’s internal storage, so players may want to consider purchasing a microSD Express card (such as those from Lexar or SanDisk) to expand their storage space.
Release Date and Availability
Pending more details on execution modes, resolution, and performance, CD Projekt’s RPG will be compatible with Joy-Con mouse mode, gyroscopic aiming, and menu navigation via the 7.9-inch touch screen.
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Editionlaunches onNintendo Switch 2on August 21, 2025, the same day as the console, with physical and digital editions priced at $69.99. This edition is also available onPS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, while the base game is available onPS4 and Xbox One.
