AndorstarAdria Arjonahas weighed in on the possibility of taking on the role ofWonder Womanin a future DCU project. The DCU has already cast some of its most iconic heroes, including Superman, Supergirl, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, and both Hal Jordan and John Stewart Green Lanterns, with Batman and Robin likely soon to follow. However, there has been no news on casting Wonder Woman, given that the only current DC project connected to the Amazon hero isParadise Lost, which is set before she is born. The one thing fans do know is that Gal Gadot will not be reprising her role as Wonder Woman anytime soon.
One potential fan-favorite choice to play Wonder Woman is Adria Arjona, who plays Bix onAndorand has also appeared in films likeHit ManandMorbius. In an interview withCinemaBlend, Arjona was asked if James Gunn following her on social media might be a sign that he wants her to play Wonder Woman. Arjona played it coy, saying she doesn’t know what it means, but does note that James Gunn did give her a role in her first feature film,The Belko Experiment, which he produced. Arjona said:

“He gave me my first movie ever…my first studio movie. So I owe him a lot. I love James Gunn…I don’t know.”

All the World is Waiting For You To Be Revealed, Wonder Woman!
As soon as it became clear that Gal Gadot would not return to play Wonder Woman in the DCU,Arjona emerged as a fan-favorite to play the character. One major factor that fans have latched onto is that Arjona is currently dating Jason Momoa, who is playing Lobo inSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. And while that traditionally wouldn’t mean anything, Arjona is likely keyed into some DCU facts because of it. In addition, Gunn likes to bring in actors he has worked with before, such as Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker, and his wife, Jennifer Holland, all of whom have DCU roles.
While there is no solo Wonder Woman project in the works, the character has been teased in the DCU. Animated seriesCreature Commandosfeatured a vision of Wonder Womanamong the bodies of dead heroes — although no actor was cast, her face was not shown, and it was a vague version of her costume that was shown.Creature Commandosalso established the Amazons as a mythical civilization that some people are unaware exists, which could suggest that Wonder Woman might not be widely known to the public. If Wonder Woman is active, the rest of the DCU world might be unfamiliar with her backstory.

Arjona has been on a bit of a hot streak lately, appearing in critically acclaimed films likeHit ManandLos Feliz. Her performance onAndoris receiving incredibly positive reviews, particularly following the opening episodes of Season 2, which did not shy away from sexual violence inStar Wars. Her addition to the DCU would certainly be a welcome one, whether she is playing Wonder Woman or any of the other countless DC characters.
