A long time ago a year used to be a significant period of time, but as the calendar pages flip on by they also accelerate. Somehow it’s been a little over a year since SnowRunnerfirst landed on PCand what were at the time the current generation of consoles, earning a dedicated fan-base who sunk endless hours into lugging massive loads of materials over the worst terrain that could laughably be referred to as “roads”. Even the overpowered trucks of SnowRunner were just barely up to the job, but a combination of perseverance plus an eye for the least swampy or snowbound trail was enough to tame the wilderness, or maybe wrestle a path through it. In the time since launch SnowRunner saw three mission packs released, adding new trucks and maps to the game, and with today being a year (and three weeks) since launch it’s finally gotten the last of the Year 1 Pass content released to coincide with the game’s appearance on Steam and Switch.
With the end of a successful Year 1 there’s only one real option moving forward, and that’s a Year 2 Pass. Much like Year 1, Year 2 will be four new chapters with a combination of maps, trucks, missions, and other goodies, although beyond a few truck skins it’s hard to say what they’ll contain. Honestly though, with today’sNew FrontiersDLC featuring the reconstruction of a Russian space rocket facility there’s going to be a pretty high bar to clear.

SnowRunner is now available on pretty much everything, from PS4 and Xbox One (plus PS5/Xbox Series X compatibility, of course) to Switch and multiple PC storefronts. Topping it off, the game is also on Xbox Game Pass too, so there’s really not a lot in the way of barriers to access. It’s been a quick, full year for SnowRunner, passing almost before it started, and next year doesn’t look like it’s going to be slowing down any.
