My Hero Academia’s popularity growth has been unprecedented. What started to be a boy’s journey to become the greatest hero is slowly approaching a much darker place with the world on the verge of collapse with a war between the heroes and the villains. But among those, there seem to be few characters who remained at the top of the popularity chart with the plot twists.
The character in the talk is Shoto Todoroki, the son of Endeavor. Shoto Todoroki has a unique quirk that allows him to control two different elements at once. While the fans may think it to be a double quirk, it is not. Shoto Todoroko’s quirk is a special case that he inherited from his parents. But there is a certain secret to it.
Why Does Shoto Todoroki Have Two Quirks?
One of the mind-boggling things about Shoto Todoroki is that theMy Hero Academiafans think it to be a double quirk. But in reality, it is a single quirk. The quirk is named “Half Cold, Half Hot,” and is obtained from his parents’ genetics. Todoroki’s father, Enji Todoroki a.k.a. Endeavor, uses a quirk name Hellfire. On the other hand, his mother Rei Todoroki’s quirk is related to frost.

As a result, Todoroki’s genes developed in such a manner that the left side of his body can use Hellfire, and the right side can use Frost, with him being immune to both. His parents were married in what is known as a ‘Quirk Marriage’. This mindset of marriage takes place so that the offspring can develop genetically advanced genes and a combination of two quirks.
Enji Todoroki trained Shoto aggressively. As a result, he started to despise his father and vowed to never use Hellfire, as it reminded him of his father. But during his battle against Deku, he realized that it was his own, and he started to use both of his powers. “Half Cold, Half Hot” can used to be the fullest only when both of the abilities are used simultaneously. Apart from that, he is also immune to cold and hot.
